But just when Xander’s attention and loyalty are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn’t a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she’d ever realized. And that Xander’s not the only one she should’ve been worried about.

I was really in the mood for a contemporary, so when I was on amazon and saw that The Distance Between Us had been released on kindle I just bought it straight away. I'd been waiting for this one to come out for ages because it sounds awesome and I knew I just had to have it.

I dove straight into it and instantly fell in love with the story. It follows out main character Caymen who lives with her mum above the doll shop she owns. Caymen is working in the shop when an extremely handsome and rich guy walks in. This is Xander Spence. After all her mothers warnings, Caymen knows she shouldn't spend time with him, but he seems to get her and she finds herself starting to really like him.

I loved Caymen! She was so sarcastic and funny that I connected with him immediately. I loved seeing peoples reactions to her when she spoke because they had no idea whether she was being serious or not. It was hilarious! She's such a great character.

And then we have Xander. I instantly liked Xander as well. I knew that he was going to be different from the guys that Caymen's mum warned her off. He was so persistent in getting to know Caymen and wanting to be friends with her. He was such a nice, sweet character. 

So it turned out that there were a few secrets being kept in this book. Caymen's mother hadn't been completely honest with her and it caused a lot of problems for them throughout the book, but especially towards the end. Her mother was kind of acting like a bitch when she was trying to tell Caymen what to do. She made split judgments about people that were completely wrong and led to a lot of problems and secrets being uncovered.

Caymen and Xander's relationship was a complicated one. He was constantly in the public eye for being the face of his fathers hotel business and there were so many articles and rumors that caused problems. On Caymen's side, trust and her mother were the issue. Caymen didn't believe Xander or really trust him and her mother was constantly trying to stop them being together. It made an interesting story and I loved seeing Caymen and Xander together because they were so good for each other. They helped each other a lot.

There was a lot of other stuff going on in this book that I'm not going to mention because I don't want to spoil anything :)

But I just loved it. It was such a cute, summery read that I definitely recommend. I can't wait to read more of Kasie West's books!

I freaking loved this book! Seriously, it's probably one of my favourite dystopian novels now. There was so much mystery and so many twists that I just had no idea what was going to be thrown at me next in this book.

So this is about a guy called Thomas who wakes up in a lift and has no memory. He is sent to this place called 'The Glade' where there are other boys around his age. The Glade is surrounded by a maze which is full of deadly creatures. And then something extremely odd happens. A girl is sent to the Glade. The first girl to ever been sent. This sparks a massive change in the Glade as the start to realise that they might be in trouble.

When I first started reading this I was slightly confused. I had no idea what was going on in the first couple of chapters and it took me a while to get used to the strange words they were using, but as soon as I did I started to really really enjoy it because I actually knew what they were saying.
I was drawn into this book straight away because I had so many questions like: "What is 'The Glade'?"  and "Why does no one remember their life or have any memories?" and "What is the purpose of the maze?". So, yeah I was extremely intrigued by everything that was happening and I was dying to find out the answers to my questions.

Thomas is just like all the other boys. He has no memories of his past life. But Thomas is slightly different. He has the inklings about what he HAS to do. He realises quickly after the girl has arrived that there's something different about him and he has a purpose for being in 'The Glade'. I really liked Thomas. He was a determined and friendly character. He bonded with someone that people hardly spoke too and they became great friends. He really cares for people and he's determined to do whatever he can to save them all.

When Teresa showed up, the whole dynamic of 'The Glade' changed. People became more suspicious and on edge because things were starting to change. They were having to fend for themselves. They started to realise that they were on their own and things had taken a turn for the worse.

I really enjoyed the discovery of the maze and seeing what the runners were trying to do. I also loved finding out the answers to my questions but they shocked me and left me with more questions! It was such an exciting journey. It was full of action, with the runners battling the beasts in the maze and the gladers becoming more paranoid. The ending was spectacular. Like, really. So much happened and I was extremely shocked at some of the things, but it was brilliant.

And then there was the epilogue that left me with my mouth hanging open! I was so shocked and surprised! I can't wait for The Scorch Trials now!

If you're looking for a dystopian that's full of action and exciting twists, then this is one I definitely recommend reading!

I had planned on reading this one a couple of months ago, but I just wasn't in the mood for it. But this month I decided I was finally going to read it because I was extremely curious about a series with a banshee in it (since I've never read one).
I was hooked the second I started reading this book. I liked that we got to discover about Kate along with her. It kept me hooked because I was desperate to find out more about her and see what her reaction would be.

Kaylee was a fantastic character. At first, I felt really bad for her because she had no idea what was going on with her and she kept jumping to the worst possible conclusion. Also, she thought she was crazy. But Kate was such a genuine character that I was desperate for her to find out the truth so that she could finally understand. She was so nice and friendly and she didn't deserve what she had to go through to keep her from finding out what she is.

I loved Nash. He was so sweet when he and Kaylee first spoke. He genuinely wanted to help her. He was nice and funny, and extremely hot. He helped Kate discover who she is and he also helped her when she had to prevent her screams. 

This storyline was full of action. I was dying to find out who was killing all of these girls and why they were doing it, and when I did, my jaw dropped! I wanted to kick myself for not realizing it sooner! It seemed so obvious when it was all revealed. We also had things going on with the reapers and that bomb that Nash's mum dropped at the end was brilliant too. I never saw that coming either and now it's made me even more curious to find out what's going to happen in the next book!

I really really loved this book! It's definitely one I'd recommend reading :)

This is a series I have seen EVERYWHERE and everyone seems to love it. I'd had this book sitting on my bookcase forever, and I have no idea why I never read it sooner.

It's about a girl called Amy who is frozen along with her parents and a lot of other people to journey 300 years to a new planet. Amy however, it unfrozen WAY before she was supposed to be and realises that someone did it on purpose. That's not all. Other's a being unfrozen and left for dead. Someone is trying to kill them. Amy has to work with Elder (future leader of Godspeed) to find out who is doing it.

So the first 1/3 of this book for me was extremely boring. I just couldn't get into it. But I persevered because I'd heard so many amazing things about it and I wanted to know what so many people loved it. And then suddenly, my interest in the book grew very quickly. I can't really remember what it was that completely drew me in, but all of a sudden I was hooked and couldn't even remember why I'd wanted to put it down.

There was a dual POV in this book.

So first of all we had Amy. Amy was a very curious character. After she was unfrozen, she was determined to find out who was doing this to the others. She was a great character and I felt bad for her because of the way she was treated on Godspeed just because she looks different.

I wasn't sure what to think of Elder to start with. I just knew I hated Eldest. Elder seemed like a nice enough character. He seemed genuine and he also seemed determined to change everything on the ship for the better. I liked seeing from his POV too because if I hadn't, I don't think I would have liked him.

There were a lot of secrets being hidden on this ship. Things I didn't expect were unraveled and they shocked me. I was so surprised that they'd managed to keep them hidden and the lengths they would go to to keep everything hidden were disgusting.
The most disturbing thing about this book was the mating. They were like animals. They had a mating season and just had sex anywhere to reproduce. It was disturbing to read about and also pretty disgusting.

After I finally got into this book, I really enjoyed it. After that ending I can't wait to get a copy of the next book and find out what's going to happen.

I was recommend this book by Jess from JessHeartsBooks (She gives awesome recommendations) when I was looking for some new books to buy. So I decided to take her up on her recommendation and buy it. And I'm so happy I did! This was exactly what I was looking for: a light, sweet, funny contemporary. 

I loved that this was such a geeky book. It was making me want to go and buy tonnes of comics and spend hours playing video games. But I was too hooked into the story to do all of that.

So our main character Madelyne is popular. But she's a massive geek at heart. She hides all of this because she thinks her friends will outcast her for being geeky. At first, I was pretty annoyed with Madelyne for hiding this part of her and pretending to be someone else. I gradually started to understand why she did it, but I was still annoyed at her for not being true to herself. It meant she was constantly lying to her friends and watching her back so that she didn't get caught. But I actually did like her. She was such a brilliant character.

And then Logan walks into her world. Logan is everything Madelyne wishes she could be. He's a geek and he doesn't care what other people think. He's sweet, funny, charming and extremely geeky (which I loved so much!). His family owns a comic book store where he works and it's also where he and Maddie have their first encounter.

I loved Maddie and Logan together. He brought out the best in her and made her more herself. He gradually got her to come out of her shell and embrace her inner geek. I loved seeing when they were out together LARPing or hanging around at the comic book store. They were just so perfect.

So Logan's best friend (who's name has slipped my mind right now, but I'm pretty sure it begins with a D) was awesome too! He was hilarious! He had some good advice for Maddie and he helped her along the way.

This was such an adorable read. I was smiling and laughing most of the way through this book (although the laughing had to be kept to a minimum since I was up until 2am reading it). But I just couldn't get enough of this book or the characters. It was so cute!
If you're looking for a light, summer read then this is definitely a book I recommend.

This was one series I'd been wanting to start forever. I kept seeing it reviews around online and everytime I saw it in the shops, I wanted to buy it so I eventually did! I'm so glad I finally got around to starting this series.

So this is basically about a girl who is part angel. She has a destiny to fulfill and she gets visions that lead her to her purpose.

Clara was a great main character. I really liked her. She's so normal (minus the angel thing) and funny. She takes everything in her stride and she eventually learns to push herself to accomplish what has to be done.

At first, I really liked Christian. I could see him and Clara ending up together. But then, Christian started acting like an ass and made me want to punch him. I also kind of figured out Christian before the end too, but it didn't ruin it for me.

Now Tucker, I really liked him. He was so genuine and friendly. He was sweet and I desperately wanted him to end up with Clara.They just seem so perfect for each other and he would bring some normality to her life. Plus, they're just so great together.

Out of the few friends that Clara had, Angela was definitely my favourite. At first, I was on edge about her because we didn't know a lot about her and I was convinced she wasn't good. But she was and she was such a great friend for Clara. Helping her with her angel side and just being there for her.

I love the storyline. Clara learned to embrace her angel side, find her purpose and fall in love. It was just brilliant. I am worried about her brother Jeffrey though, because of what was revealed at the end so I can't wait to get onto the next book and find out if my suspicions are true (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they're not though!).

I knew exactly what Clara was going to do at the end, and I would have done the exact same thing. She followed her heart instead of her head and I loved that about her. 

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I can't wait to get onto Hallowed and find out what's in store for Clara.
