Frigid by J Lynn

Frigid (Frigid #1)
by J Lynn

For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love. Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have. But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

So this is my second J Lynn New Adult novel, and I loved this one so much more than her first one (and I enjoyed that one too!). This one just had more going on in the storyline, and there was a deeper connection between the characters.

Sydney and Kyler have been best friends since they were little. Sydney is completely in love with Kyler, but Kyler is always jumping around from girl to girl. Sydney doesn't want to ruin their friendship by declaring her feelings. But then they get trapped at a ski resort during a massive snow storm. Will Sydney be able to keep her feelings a secret?

Sydney was a brilliant character. She was able to hide her feelings about Kyler so well, even though it hurt her to see him with another girl. She was snarky and funny, and I just loved her.

Kyler was such a sweetheart. Even though he was always sleeping around, he was very conscious of what Sydney thought of him, and always tried to be on his best behaviour around her. He always thought that Sydney was too good for him.

Sydney and Kyler had a rocky relationship when it came down to it. They got off on the wrong foot in the sunroom, but then they managed to get it back on track and spent a couple of days blissfully happy. But then, of course, something happened that tore them apart. They spent some time apart before realising that they loved each other.

Sydney and Kyler had a stalker. Someone that was determined to ruin their time trapped in the ski resort. When they were in the sunroom, they were shot at. Someone cut the power, and then what happened at the end was shocking. I felt to bad for Sydney for having to go through all of that and I completely understood her reaction to Kyler after it, because it was slightly his fault even if the guy was a complete psycho. But Sydney did kind of fly off that handle when it came to assuming what Kyler had been doing. She refused to listen to him, and made a split second judgement which was completely wrong.

Overall, I completely adored this book. Kyler and Sydney are one of my favourite couples ever now because they were friends for years before they became romatically involved. So there was already a relationship established between them, and it was nice to see it grow into love. For fans of New Adult, this is definitely a must read.
